Frequently Asked Questions
The 2018 ECU/PCS AIG Camp will take place Monday through Friday!
Previously Pitt County Schools closed all buildings on Fridays during the summer. This year we have been given special permission to have camp on Friday. Camp will run from 8AM to 12PM for the entire week.
Why is my rising 6th grader classified as an elementary student during camp?
During camp week, we classify the rising 6th graders as 5th graders because it is based on the grade level students were in when they registered in the spring. This allows us to group the previous school year's 4th and 5th grade students together for sessions and then have a middle school group of 6th-8th graders as well.
Will my student get his top two session choices?
We try to ensure that all students have a great time at camp and we make every effort possible to give students their top choices of session selections. However, we also work hard to provide a small group setting for both the PCS students and our ECU students learning to be AIG teachers. In this effort we sometimes have to give students their 3rd or 4th choice to keep groups small.
What does my child need to wear to camp?
Students may dress in regular clothes – uniforms are not necessary during camp. Students should come in comfortable clothing because they may be sitting on the floor, moving, running, etc.
What does my child need to bring on the first day?
Nothing - we will provide everything needed for the first day.
Will camp provide a snack?
Students will have a short snack time daily. We will provide the snacks, but if your child has allergies or would like to bring their own in case they do not like what is served they are more than welcome to do so.
When will my child get his schedule for his camp sessions?
Students will receive their schedule with their selected sessions when they arrive at camp on June 26.
